He travels widely, generally to countries with ongoing civil unrest, because the resultant currency collapse makes the holiday less expensive and more exciting. Travelgall joined the blog in 2007.

This blog is Conservative Libertarian. We are in favour of individual emancipation, freedom from unnecessary rules, surveillance, monitoring and taxation by rapacious states. We believe people will be better off without the lavish "support" of the welfare state, and that real happiness of individuals and society as a whole, will be better obtained by returning people's money and their self-reliance. Freedom of speech is the fundamental freedom, even for people with whom we disagree such as racists, creationists, terrorist apologists, holocaust deniers and Gordon Brown. No opinion is dangerous in itself, only actions based on them. There is no right to live unoffended. We stand against socialism, competition for the "benefits" of which often lead to racism and communal mistrust. We unashamedly support free, global markets and free movement of people, goods and services, because where merchants cannot cross borders, armies do. We are unashamedly patriotic, believing freedom under the rule of law, which was born in these shores is a universally applicable principle to people of all cultures and creeds. Whilst we support the idea of a Europe of free nations trading as one, this does not describe the EU. In practice the Brussels leviathan has become an unreformable, undemocratic bureaucratic prison of nations, a parasitic succubus strangling countries with rules, without advancing freedom. Patriotism is not xenophobia however: love of one's own country does not preclude loving other peoples' too.
