England "Rugby"

I have seen some shit performances by the England "rugby" team, but this time I think having the England football team at Murrayfield might have actually led to a better result.

A classic case of thinking that the match was won before the kick-off, indicating a severe lack of Leadership both on and off the field. Ashton is clearly not up to the Job and clearly must go. If only for repeatedly picking Balshaw, probably the least popular man in English rugby. It is fine to be wrong when everyone else is wrong, but to persist in picking someone who is widely regarded as a liability when eveyone is telling you not to do so so smacks of hubris. It's not as if he's the only choice at full-back.

Well done Scotland and Go the Boyos for their Grand slam decider next week!

I don't think I have ever seen such a bad game of rugby.

If it had been the first game I had ever watched, I don't think I would have bothered again.

Ashton has got to go.

Balshaw? Why oh why?

I felt like banging my head against a wall in frustration.

And then things got worse when England tried to play cricket.

Hopeless.

You know, I think we can completely agree on this one.

Never underestimate the England cricket teams propensity for a good honest middle order collapse!

Proof God exists...

2Kings V 8
And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah Balshaw.

When the sailors discovered that it was Jonah Balshaw who was the reason for their dilemma, they immediately bombarded him with questions. Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?

And I said unto them, I am an Lancashireman residing in Gloucestershire, and I fear the high ball, the up and under, the pass. I fear the coach, which hath maketh me the luckiest bastard ever to wear the England shirt despite my repeated failures at international level.

Here endeth the lesson.

Cricket? They were playing ping pong from where I was sitting. Which was very near the try line at Murrayfield. A try line which was never in any danger of being crossed.

Off topic but what haqppened to your post of defined pensions? I got the RS feed version and when I went to comment there it was, gone!

I was almost crying in frustration, that wasn't even rugby up to schoolboy standards.

The answer is related to this post. My post on Pensions was crap, because I wrote it after this game (and subsequent sorrow drowning). The post will reappear after substantial, indeed total rewriting.

I think the word that you all seemed to miss was CLUELESS.
This applies to the management and the players on Saturday.
I must be softening up in my old age as I seem not to shout abuse at my tv screen as much as I used to when watching any England team regardless of the sport...or am I really just getting used to such performances?

Thank you, Jackart. A mediocre game, but I must confess that didn't bother me one iota.

A mediocre Scotland team, too, which is a cause for more concern. Cracks papered over till the weekend, when Italy give us a doing.

Just watching the U20's against Ireland, much better game. Some very good ball handling well.

lets hope they continue to develop.
