Our Italian

It seems our Prime Minister just keeps putting his foot in it a la Silvio Berlusconi. We’ve just had a “0% rise” from Mr Brown in Prime Ministers Question Time today. Add this to “Obama Beach”, “No more Boom and Bust”, "Saviour of the World", and the “Czechoslovakian” people gaffe he’s really loosing it. Everybody knew he was incompetent and a liar, but he’s really raising the bar on how not to talk in PMQ’s. If you’re going to lie, get Mandelson to show you how, not Blinky Balls.

I wonder if the nation would respect Gordon Brown more or less if he invited a load of prostitutes to his private home for the weekend.

McBroon is a total toe-curling embarrassment who lost his marbles a long time ago, if he ever had them in the first place. It's obvious to everyone except the Labour tribe that he's not fit to man the doorstep at No.10, let alone be inside it running the shop. The gaffes are borne out of insanity and sheer incompetence, reflective of the fact that he is not, nor ever was, cut out to be in high office. Just because DC can run rings around him at PMQs, and it is entirely Brown's fault that his run-ins with the Tories have become a stand-up comedy routine, we have his loyal and equally in-denial acolytes call it bullying!! (See http://playpolitical.typepad.com/labour_party/2009/07/ed-balls-attacks-camerons-bullying-style-at-pmqs.html). If you can't stand the heat...well just get the fuck out of Office, Brown. NOW PLEASE.

Presumably you mean "losing it"?
Being patronising is a tricky business if you can't spell.

I really wish we had a Prime Minister who added as much to the gaiety of nations as Il Padrone does.

What a contrast with our dour, humourless, grump of a leader.

On competence terms, it's probably pretty much a dead heat, but at least Berlusconi is entertaining. And of course Italy continues to function, because those wise Italians long ago realised that the State can't do anything for you, so you'd better just get on with it; and they do.
