A national anthem for England

Seeing the piss poor attempt of the England football team singing the national anthem in the Slovenia match the other day I had a thought. God Save the Queen is the British national anthem. We ought to have one of our own. Although Jerusalem is muted, the obvious answer is clear. Flanders and Swann take it away….

I preferred the Armstrong and Miller parody of same, but it's all good.

# Why are the French such a bunch of workshys? /
Why are the Belgians such a bore? #
(etc)

I think the lyrics might be a bit tricky for the average football fan and footballer.

Everyone knows that a good national anthem consists of a series of questions to which the answer is no, cf The Star Spangled Banner. Jerusalem is ideal in this regard.
