Misconduct in medical research is at the highest level. One of the reasons for this may be that the Pharma industry has a rigorous and robust quality assurance system, enforced by government legislation, which when properly applied makes it difficult for fraud to remain undetected. If such a system was in force in other scientific areas, climatology anyone?, the possibility of similar rates of malpractice cannot be discounted.

Not sure about anonymous publication. I prefer revealing the names of the reviewers after a peer-review cycle is complete.
